18th July

18th July

Up at 7:30am as we stayed in a B&B we packed the bikes and waited for breakfast.

Very fast cycle this morning when we had a following wind and a very smooth cycle path and managed 21mph on the flat which is going some when fully loaded.

Random pictures from the day...

Some cyclists had suitcases on the top of the panniers...

Some wierd 'things' over the river ahead looked a bit like Star Wars...

Just before a ferry crossing. Kids feeding horses.

Started to see windmills. This one was for water pumping

As we thought (Dom did anyway) we'd have to cycle anoter 10 miles a campsite appeared on the side of the route. De Pit near RUMPT.

We setup the tent under pear trees and as we did so we were visited by one of the campsite owners who lent us a pair of chairs and box for a table. Even asked if we wanted some towels as they know cyclists have to carry everything! Talk about pampering!

Even the ground was easy to put pegs into.

We had another visit for some of the free range chickens that ran about the site and one even decided to lay an egg in the tent!

As we had done some cycling and there were some handy trees and the batteries were charged I did a bit of operating as PA/M1KTA/P

Luxury, 2 borrowed chairs and a box as a table... Setting up to operate.

18th July ended the day on 818.28 miles.
